The Timberview High School boys basketball team made history Saturday by defeating San Antonio Wagner 77-64, claiming the school’s second 5A State Boys Basketball Championship in just three years.
The UIL Boys Basketball State Tournament was held March 7-9 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
Timberview started off strong and lead 47-33 at the half. Senior guard CJ Smith lead all scorers in the game with 24 points and was named MVP.
Timberview extended their winning streak to 19 games to take the state title and finished the season with a record of 38-2.
